On-the-Go Meal Experience
The On-the-Go Meal Experience is a meal box system designed for professionals with fast-paced routines who want to enjoy a wrap and quick snacks during their commute. Developed as a concept for the 2025 Mercedes GLA, the design integrates convenience, organization, and premium detailing to complement the vehicle’s lifestyle and interior language.
Persona:
concept Design: Mercedes GLa
Thinking about Mercedes-Benz’s overall visual brand language and the detailing found across both the exterior and interior of the vehicle, I explored the idea of dynamic quadrangles as a guiding form language. When designing the On-the-Go Meal Experience, I aimed to balance sharp, defined edges with soft, flowing curves to reflect this interplay and create a form that feels both precise and approachable.
Design Proposal
The meal experience was designed specifically for eating a wrap on the go with minimal spillage. I wanted the snack container and the main meal compartment to feel cohesive, yet distinct. To achieve this, they open in different directions, informed by ergonomics and the ease of grabbing a snack or meal while driving.
The body of the design would be in tin, with a lid made from recycled plastic. This material combination keeps the product durable, sustainable, and non-toxic while keeping a refined feel.
